About the event
As autumn invites us to slow down and turn inward, we will journey through three distinctive Chinese teas, moving from golden brightness into warmth, depth, and stillness.
We begin with Mengding Huangya (蒙顶黄芽), a rare Sichuan yellow tea shaped by the traditional menhuang (闷黄), or “sealed yellowing,” process. Next, charcoal-roasted Tieguanyin (炭焙铁观音) from Anxi brings together floral fragrance and the warmth of fire. We conclude with a 2007 Wuliang Mountain ripe Pu-erh cake (2007年无量山熟饼) from Yunnan, a mellow, earthy tea shaped by nearly two decades of aging.
Through meditative tea drinking, sensory awareness, and quiet pauses, we will explore each tea’s aroma, texture, warmth, and movement through the body. Our story circle will reflect on: As the season turns, what are you ready to gather, release, or carry inward?
No tea experience is necessary. Participants are welcome to share, listen, or simply experience the tea in silence.
