The Shape of Freshness: An Early Summer Green Tea Circle · Fourth Sunday in June
A Tea Tasting & Story Circle is a relaxed, embodied mindfulness gathering for up to 7 guests. Each month, we explore premium East Asian teas through scent, texture, temperature, and presence, allowing the experience to unfold gently through the body.
This June, we gather with three green teas from Korea and Japan accompanied by seasonal pairings: Korean Sejak (細雀, “Delicate Sparrow”), a delicate early spring tea associated with softness and freshness; Japanese Sencha (煎茶, “Steeped Tea”), known for vivid aroma and bright clarity; and Kokuryū (黒龍, “Black Dragon”), offering earthy richness and quiet depth.
The gathering includes the history and origin of each tea, traditional brewing methods, and teaware. Through guided sensory tasting, gentle storytelling, and optional reflection, we notice shifts in our body and mind. Silence is equally welcome.
